If you love hip hop, if r&B and soul is your thing, if dancehall makes your body move GRIND is where you wanna be. This Saturday Dj's DeLux and Analog will be creating the vibe pon tha dance floor. Come dance with me people it's been forever!!!
And further more Lick deserves your support!!!! I've lived across this country and know of no other queer community space where you can book a club fully staffed and stoked for your event to happen without a contract or rental fees. If you have a purpose present a plan and LICK will do it's best to support your charity or vision.
A true community space can only exist if the community doesn't take it for granted. If we haven't seen you in a while show up, show some love, lets get unified because one day the opportunity may be lost and that would be a very sad day for this community. See you this Saturday BIG LOVE BRIGEE. K
In conjunction with Bob Loblaw Queer Arts Society, Vancouver Pride cordially invites you to join us in unholy matrimony at My Big Gay Wedding II, the Journey of Jen and Jasmine.
The evening includes a night of food, marriage, music and mayhem followed by an after party at Celebrities. This event promises to be the most outrageous and salacious wedding of the year!
Tickets are on sale until June 10th only and $75 (or $700 for a table of ten) and available at Little Sisters, 1238 Davie St, and by credit card at the Vancouver Pride office, 604-687-0955.
Funds raised assist the Pride Parade and Legacy Fund. Say 'I Do' to buying tickets before they sell out!
Nobody puts Baby in a corner! How do you call your loverboy? Come here, loverboy. Da-do you love me, now that I can dance? I carried a watermelon. She's like the wind through my tree. Now I've got you in my sights, with these hungry eyes... I feel the magic between you and I.
I've had the time of my life, I've never felt like this before!
Welcome back to summer at Prancerman's Lodge. June 12, Prancerman's main ballroom, we'll show you dancing like you've never seen before. Join us for a summertime fling! Experiment with new moves and get sweaty, it doesn't matter what your parents think. Short-shorts, boat shoes, twirly dresses, dirty prancing.
Featuring PHILLIPS beer!
9:30pm - 2:00am. $5-10 sliding scale. Venue & bathroom are wheelchair accessible. Childcare funds and “Oops, too trashed to get home” funds available. Prance believes in maximum danceability. prance.prance.revolution@gmail.com and pranceparty.wordpress.com
In honour of that Dirty Dancing subplot, we will be donating bar tips to a local organization which supports access to abortion. There is a poll here: http://pranceparty.wordpress.com/2010/05/27/vote-for-who-gets-the-prance-donation/ Go vote before June 10!

On Sunday June 13th from 7-9 pm (see our street address below) we will be hosting our popular "Rainbow of Experiences" panel.
Listen to queer parents share their stories about adoption, conception using known and unknown donors, issues unique to the non-biological parent, and more! Connecting with each other through panel discussion offers a great opportunity to explore and celebrate some of the different paths to parenting in our community.
If you're interested in attending the event, save the date and email us to let us know you'll be coming . It's sure to be an enriching, informative and community building evening!

CAP AIDS is pleased to announce that the 7th annual Bike 2 CAP AIDS Bike-a-thon, a fun family event, will be held in Vancouver on Saturday, June 19th. Come join us as a Team or individual rider!
The Bike 2 CAP AIDS Bike-a-thon is an annual CAP AIDS campaign aimed at raising awareness about the HIV and AIDS pandemic in Africa, while also demonstrating to Canadians that they can make a difference. For every $200 that is raised by the bike-a-thon, CAP AIDS will provide either:
a) One new bicycle and other supports to an HIV AIDS outreach worker in Africa. With a sustainable and affordable means of transportation, these local heroes can provide HIV AIDS prevention, care, and support services to 5 times as many people, and have a much bigger impact,
OR
b) vocational skills training for one AIDS-orphaned African youth. With a skilled vocation, orphaned youth can gain employment, earn a better living, rebuild their confidence, and care for their younger siblings.
Thanks to valuable support of concerned Canadians, CAP AIDS has to date provided more than 500 bikes and other essential resources to AIDS service organizations and outreach workers in Ethiopia, Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
Online registration is easy and secure. Please go to the Bike 2 CAP AIDS 2010 Event HomePage at

The ride will move safely along bike paths to the Inukshuk near English Bay and return to Trout Lake between 11:30am – 12:00pm for complimentary refreshments and entertainment, including a Zimbabwean marimbas group. We are in the process of securing city permits but ask you to please hold the date as June 19th.
Can't participate? If you are unable to participate in the bike-a-thon, please consider making a donation or sponsoring other riders. Our goal this year is to raise at least $15,000 in Vancouver, and $60,000 across Canada!
