Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a queer-friendly, female physician in the lower mainland who's taking new patients? My partner and I are looking for a family doctor. Many thanks in advance!

Mid-Main Community Health Centre on Main and 24th is awesome! They're also a non-profit organization and have some really great ideas and approaches to health care. I'm assuming everyone there is queer friendly, but I have no idea if anyone is taking new patients. I'd suggest checking out their website and giving them a call if you don't mind commuting from burnaby to vancouver. Otherwise, anything run by Vancouver Coastal is queer friendly. Three Bridges in the downtown core has some pretty good docs. I'm sure there's others, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
Good luck!

(I'll pm you with a little more info..)
Oh yeah - The Centre used to keep a list of queer friendly health practitioners, but i have no idea if that's still maintained. Another resource might be the "GLBA Business Directory" available most readily around Davie street at The Centre, Little Sister's, etc. It might be called the "Gay and Lesbain Business Directory" or the "Lesbian and Gay Business Directory" or include a longer and more inclusive acronym at this point in time. My most recent copy is from 2006! It should have doctors.. I think. Anyways.. hope that helps!

Thank you so much. I used to volunteer at the Centre, but found that the resources weren't very up to date in regards to physicians.
Mid Main looks fantastic. I looked up the doctors individually, and it seems like there are some good ones there. Hopefully they're taking new patients. Also, Three Bridges is a good suggestion. Thanks again!

Hi Everyone,
I just thought that I'd update this. We've found a Dr!! It seemed to take forever, calling around to find out which doctors were taking new patients, and also checking out www.ratemds.com for reviews on available doctors.
Anyways, my partner and I are now happily seeing Dr. Mihaela Lapuste. The clinic she works from is on Hastings, just a few blocks West of Renfrew. The office itself is a little 70's, but that's kind of beside the point.
She didn't have any noticeable reactions when my partner and I told her that our birth control was being in a monogamous same-sex relationship. I'm not sure how knowledgeable she is in terms of "queer health" but she knows enough to feel that a PAP test is still important. She is a very good listener, which I find to be a rare trait, but so important. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking. She is still taking new patients. Good luck!

blue prom dresses 2011 are customary for high school prom. Cheap prom dresses are available online as well as the gown outlets around town. Get a bargain on prom dresses when you buy the gowns in bundles. You can also search for cheap prom dresses in online apparel blogs but be aware of the shipping or postage charges which can be hidden additional costs.
However keep in mind that you should not buy a gown which too fluffy and unrealistic for other occasions. Avoid taffeta, cheap laces and puffy sleeves because they may cause the wearer to believe that the gown can only be worn once.
You can be assured to have more satisfaction when you purchase a cocktail gown instead of traditional puffy-fairytale sort of gowns. This is to ensure that the wearer can be seen in other occasion with the same gown which increases its function which is not restricted to the high school occasion alone.
