Thread: KATARO PROJECT - Writers Needed! |
|
|
Baltic Telegraph Company seeks shockingly
brilliant, witty and incisive writers to collaborate in the creation
of a new performance work. Bridging the boundaries of modern cabaret,
video installation art and traditional drama, the project will
incorporate extensive video and multimedia elements. Initially the
work will be performed on the Canadian Fringe Theatre Circuit and in a
World War II era army battery off the coast of
Maine.
Individual writers will fabricate characters,
narratives, settings and scenarios. To this end they will be sent
writing/trigger exercises which they may execute to the letter or
which they may subvert in radically different directions to suit their
desires, needs and styles. At the outset participating writers will
remain anonymous.
After a significant amount of material
accumulates, drafts of the emerging work will be circulated. Writers
will discuss the work and edit it into a cohesive whole. Technical
designers will weight-in regarding to set design, video possibilities,
and other production elements. Preliminary dry readings will be
conducted to perform dialogue and catch any remaining glitches.
Finally the performance will be cast and produced.
The project
should be a gratifying writing experience as it will be wholly shaped
by the force of a phenomenally diverse pool of collected wit. The
format of the show (particularly its live performance/media
interaction opportunities) will accomodate wildly non-conventional
narrative structures and arresting character possibilities. We invite
you to join the project and contribute as much as you
can.
Please contact us by phone, email or post. Any feedback or
commentary on the project or this missive would be appreciated. Also,
if you do not want to write but would like to work on the project in
some other capacity, drop us a line with your ideas and what you would
like to do.

Thread: SAVE WOMEN's RESOURCES |
|
|
On March 31, the women's centres in
BC will lose all their provincial government funding. There are 37
women's centres with a $1.7 millionbudget in operational
funding.
If you want to protest these cuts, go to
www.bcgeu.ca/2037 and click on Add Your Voice to the
Growing List. Apparently there have been sometechnical difficulties
with signing the petition, so they are really hoping for more names.

If you go to the site it will explain the process. You go
on a waiting list and teams call you out for practices as they need
more players.

I saw the pilot last night/this morning on
Heartland Road. I liked it. The acting was pretty good, and the story
line wasn't corny.

Thread: Hygeine vs. Grooming |

I think
some of us would rather smell the pussy than have to weed whack
through a forest of hair to smell the pussy.
There is nothing
"sterile" about a shaved pussy, and being shaved doesn't necessarily
mean "all gone." And sometimes, people would just rather have sex than
have to go through the ritual of a shower.
Didn't mean to
ruffle feathers out there *jeez*
